When to Book
Disney resort guests (including DVC rental guests) may make dining reservations up to 180 days before their arrival. Off-site visitors are limited to 60 days in advance. This means your DVC stay gives you a 120-day head start over day visitors — a meaningful advantage for popular restaurants.
The 180-day window opens at 6:00 AM Eastern Time on the day that is exactly 180 days before your check-in date. The most sought-after restaurants — Be Our Guest, Cinderella's Royal Table, and California Grill — routinely fill within minutes of the window opening. Set an alarm and be ready.
Additionally, if you are visiting during a busy season such as spring break, Christmas week, or a major Disney anniversary, consider booking dining even before firming up all park plans. Restaurants are harder to recover than park ticket strategies.
How to Book
- My Disney Experience App — The simplest method. Open the app, tap the dining icon, search by restaurant name or location, select a date and party size, and confirm your reservation. A credit card is required to hold most table-service reservations.
- DisneyWorld.com — Navigate to "Reservations & Tickets" then "Dining Reservations." The website offers the same inventory as the app and is easier to navigate for large parties or complex modifications.
- Disney Dining Line — Call (407) WDW-DINE (407-939-3463). Live agents can sometimes access reservations that appear unavailable online. Hold times can be long — early morning calls are fastest.
- Cancellation Hunting — Reservations drop constantly as guests modify plans. Check the app at 6:00 AM, midday, and again in the evenings. Third-party services also monitor and alert for cancellations at specific restaurants.
Tips for Hard-to-Get Restaurants
- Book at exactly 6:00 AM Eastern on your 180-day opening — use the app rather than the website for fastest access.
- Consider an early breakfast at popular character dining venues (Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey's) as an alternative if lunch and dinner slots are gone.
- Check for last-minute cancellations on the day you visit — parties frequently cancel when plans change at the parks.
- Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom is table-service for dinner; arrive early for the walk-up list which sometimes opens on the day of visit.
- For Oga's Cantina and other Star Wars Galaxy's Edge experiences, book immediately at the 60-day mark.
- Always add a credit card to hold reservations — missing a reservation without 24-hour cancellation notice typically results in a per-person fee.
- Mobile dine-in is available at select quick-service locations — use the My Disney Experience app to order from the queue and skip the counter.
